Alderwood Community Church just
completed a youth expansion wing and the installation of lighting, sound and
video equipment. Once the room was on line the cinderblock walls
really became a problem. The approach in this room was to absorb the
energy not aimed at the seating area. Banners were employed to absorb
direct and reverberant sound from the main speakers. Wall panels were
hung on the wall behind the band and mix positions to improve the
environment for the youth band and sound person.
Regarding the project Dave
Ballbach (Administrative Pastor) said,
"I appreciated the useful time
spent in evaluating the acoustics of our meeting space. Knowing that
our budget was limited, you zeroed in on the improvements that were most
cost effective and would provide the most acoustical advantage.
Following your instructions, we had instant success with redirecting the
sound to improve intelligibility. everyone was happy with the
results".
